Reminder: Mariannette Miller-Meeks Laid the Groundwork For Iowa’s Abortion Ban

Yesterday, the Iowa Supreme Court began oral arguments for the state’s strict abortion ban that would ban abortion before many women know they’re pregnant.

Mariannette Miller-Meeks paved the way for these dangerous attacks on Iowa women’s reproductive freedoms. In the state legislature, Miller-Meeks voted for legislation that would jeopardize Iowa women’s access to abortion, birth control, and even IVF. Miller-Meeks also supported a constitutional amendment that would completely eliminate the right to an abortion in Iowa with no exceptions.

Now, she’s pushing the same anti-choice agenda in Congress, co-sponsoring a national abortion ban with no exceptions for rape, incest, or the woman’s life.

DCCC Spokesperson Mallory Payne:
“Iowa women’s reproductive decisions could soon be controlled by politicians, thanks to Mariannette Miller-Meeks who’s been laying the groundwork to ban abortion for years. Miller-Meeks has repeatedly voted for legislation that would ban abortion with no exceptions for rape, incest, or the woman’s life. Her agenda has helped create this dangerous reality for Iowans, who will hold her accountable in November.”
