Today, Mike Johnson will join his friend Monica De La Cruz in a performative move to politicize the southern border and evade their responsibility to provide solutions.
In response, DCCC Spokesperson Lauryn Fanguen released the following statement:
“When there was a bipartisan agreement that would have brought much-needed resources to help secure the southern border, Mike Johnson and House Republicans like Monica De La Cruz decided to play partisan politics and use the border crisis as a campaign tactic. No matter what they say at today’s campaign event, their actions make clear they would rather campaign on this issue than find a solution.”
