Reminder of Zach Nunn’s Record Failing Farmers on Long Overdue Year-Round E15

Ahead of today’s E15 vote, here is your reminder that Zach Nunn has failed Iowa farmers for years by kicking the can on E15 down the road and abandoning his leverage.

For months, Nunn made big promises about delivering year-round E15 that he has continually failed on:

  • Abandoned his leverage to get E15 into a must-pass spending bill.
  • Missed his self-imposed February 25th deadline after abandoning his leverage.
  • Missed his self-imposed deadline for a March 1st vote, leaving Iowa farmers in the lurch.
  • Failed to get E15 into the long-delayed Farm Bill.

REMINDER: Even if this long overdue bill does pass the House, the Senate has made it clear that it is a “nonstarter” that “won’t pass in the Senate.”

No matter what happens with today’s vote, Nunn has still failed to pass year-round E15 into law.

DCCC Spokesperson Katie Smith:
“When push came to shove, Zach Nunn folded to his party bosses and repeatedly failed to deliver year-round E15. Iowa farmers can’t wait any longer to get this passed into law – no matter what Nunn tries to claim now, his record of failing farmers is clear.”
