REMINDER: On the 88th Anniversary of the Social Security Act, Monica De La Cruz Is Still Trying to Cut it

On the 88th anniversary of the Social Security Act being signed into law, vulnerable Republican Monica De La Cruz is celebrating by plotting to cut Texas seniors’ hard earned benefits.

House Republicans who sit on the extreme MAGA Republican Study Committee – including De La Cruz – unveiled their latest budget proposal in June which detailed plans to raise the retirement age, reduce benefits, and privatize Medicare.

In May, Speaker McCarthy, promised to create a commission to identify cuts to Social Security to appease the MAGA extremists in his conference. After getting called out for this new attack on Social Security both McCarthy and De La Cruz have gone strangely silent on the status of this promised commission.
