The NRCC and Tom Emmer clearly don’t want to speak about achieving their longtime goal of overturning Roe v. Wade because they know they are out-of-step with Americans. In fact, according to polling conducted after the leak of the SCOTUS draft opinion overturning Roe, 80% of people believe the decision whether to have an abortion should be left to a woman and her doctor and 2:1 people oppose the GOP’s plan to impose a nationwide abortion ban.
DCCC spokesperson Helen Kalla:
“House Republicans will do anything to avoid talking about their desire to rip away women’s freedoms to make decisions about our own bodies. Unfortunately for Republicans, we’re happy to tell voters about their record for them.”
