Two years ago, the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade and took away a woman’s right to have an abortion.
In the two years since Rob Mercuri cheered for the fall of Roe, his extreme party has worked to further restrict women’s reproductive freedoms – from working to outlaw abortion medication to voting to allow states to implement abortion bans.
A self-professed Trump supporter, Mercuri himself has been waging a dangerous war on women’s reproductive rights. In the state legislature, Mercuri co-sponsored a near total abortion ban without exceptions for rape or incest. The bill would punish doctors with up to seven years in prison. He also voted for a constitutional amendment that would ban the right to an abortion, something the ACLU said would “threaten the fundamental rights of every Pennsylvanian.”
DCCC Spokesperson Aidan Johnson:
“Rob Mercuri can’t hide the reality of his anti-choice extremism. Pennsylvanians know Mercuri celebrated as women across the country had their reproductive freedom ripped away, and voters will hold him accountable for his continued extremism this November.”
