| Health care costs have already skyrocketed across the Lehigh Valley because Congressman Ryan Mackenzie and House Republicans failed to extend the Affordable Care Act (ACA) tax credits.
Mackenzie knows that his record of higher costs and reduced access to care is going to cost him his seat, so he’s trying to cover his tracks.
But let’s be clear: Mackenzie is responsible for these price hikes and has a longstanding record of undermining Pennsylvanians access to affordable health care – dating all the way back to his time in Harrisburg.
As a reminder…
- Mackenzie applauded the so-called “Big Beautiful Bill” and cast a decisive vote for the largest cuts to Medicaid in history. As a result of his vote, 15 million Americans are expected to lose their health care.
- Mackenzie – on audio – once called the Affordable Care Act (ACA) “infringements upon our rights,” and said the health care program had turned “out to be more of a disaster than I think anybody ever imagined.” He has spent more than a decade opposing the ACA.
- Mackenzie has already failed to prevent the ACA tax credits from expiring – jacking up Pennie costs by an average of 102% across Pennsylvania.
- Mackenzie voted for a House Republican health care plan which did not extend the tax credits, and he ditched Washington for weeks instead of working on a potential solution.
DCCC Spokesperson Eli Cousin:
“Congressman Mackenzie has already allowed the ACA tax credits to expire and prices to skyrocket – that’s a fact. He has spent his entire political career working to undermine affordable health care for Pennsylvanians, calling the ACA ‘infringements upon our rights’ and casting a decisive vote to rip away health care from tens of thousands of people across the Lehigh Valley. Mackenzie is no health care savior and he won’t be able to trick Pennsylvanians into believing otherwise.” |
