REMINDER: Ryan Mackenzie is One of the Most Vulnerable Republicans in Congress

Mackenzie cast the deciding vote for House Republicans’ Tax Scam that would gut Medicaid to fund tax cuts for billionaires

As Ryan Mackenzie votes to rip away health insurance and food assistance from his Lehigh Valley constituents, and faces new scrutiny in the press about his record of lying to voters about his background, it’s never been more certain that he is one of the most vulnerable Republicans in Congress.

Here’s what voters know about Mackenzie after his first few months in office: 

• Congressman Mackenzie has faced weekly “Mondays with Mackenzie” protests in his district, including a protest that drew more than 100 constituents after he cast the deciding vote for Republicans’ politically toxic Tax Scam that would make the largest cuts to Medicaid in history. Mackenzie’s Tax Scam also rips food assistance away from families, all to give tax cuts to billionaires.
• Mackenzie shared a “wildly racist” conspiracy theory about immigrants being the reason why measles cases are spiking.  
• Mackenzie last month suffered “fresh humiliation” after multiple outlets raised new questions about his past lies to voters and efforts the congressman is taking to cover them up. It was reported that his tax-payer funded congressional staffer “has been accused of wiping the congressman’s Wikipedia page of a paragraph detailing the lawmaker’s Tinder scandal from last year.”

Nonpartisan race raters agree that Mackenzie is one of the most vulnerable Republicans in Congress.
