Last night, former President Donald Trump was indicted for his role in attempting to overturn the 2020 election—an effort aided by Republican members of Congress, including Rep. Scott Perry. These lies culminated in the tragic and deadly insurrection on January 6, one of the darkest days in the nation’s history.
Since the deadly attack on the nation’s Capitol, Perry has downplayed the events of January 6, continuing to falsely claim no insurrectionist was armed and even opposing a vote to honor the law enforcement who gave their life to protect his own.
DCCC Spokesperson Aidan Johnson:
“Donald Trump’s latest indictment is another reminder that Scott Perry played a direct role in the deadly effort to overturn the 2020 election. Perry tried to subvert the will of voters in his own district and across the country. He is an embarrassment to the people of Pennsylvania and they won’t forget his treasonous and seditious attempt to defy democracy.”
