REMINDER: Self-Serving D.C. Politician Bill Huizenga Works for Himself and His Corporate Donors

Refresh your memory on Huizenga’s record looking out for himself:

• Huizenga was one of just thirteen members of Congress to vote AGAINST banning insider trading.
• Huizenga tripled his wealth and increased his net worth by as much as five times during the years he’s been in Congress.
• Huizenga voted to give himself as much as $50,000 in tax breaks while his family business is also “receiving some of the largest corporate tax reductions in the bill.” Not to mention the handouts to billionaires while raising costs for regular families.
• Huizenga got caught paying more than $400,000 in campaign cash to his brother – who also worked as a full time real estate agent, selling condos for Huizenga’s luxury condo company.
• Huizenga dropped thousands of dollars on “Montana snowmobile rentals,” “golf, dining, and cigars in Florida,” a “five-star, ski-in/ski-out hotel,” and luxury Puerto Rico restaurants.
• Huizenga previously received scrutiny for his campaign’s spending at Disney World, with “sloppy bookkeeping ha[ving] breached conduct rules” and “some spending stray[ing] into murky regulatory territory.”

“Bill Huizenga spent more than a decade and a half in Washington, and all Michigan has to show for it is higher prices while Huizenga has lined his pockets. Huizenga only works for himself and that’s why Michiganders will fire him – it’s time for change.”
