Race raters agree that Perry is one of the most vulnerable Republicans in Congress

Unpopular Congressman Scott Perry barely held on to his seat in Congress last cycle. Now, after continuing to sell out Central Pennsylvanians and casting a decisive vote to rip away health care from his own constituents, here is a reminder that Perry is more vulnerable than ever.

“Nobody likes Scott Perry: He’s spent more than a decade in Washington sowing division and selling out his Central Pennsylvania constituents at every turn. After calling Medicaid a ‘money laundering’ scheme, Perry voted to make the largest cuts to the program in history and add trillions to our national debt all so that he could fund more tax cuts for billionaires – and his only concern was that he wished the Medicaid cuts were even steeper. Perry has never been more vulnerable and his days in Congress are numbered.”

Here’s the record Scott Perry will be running on:

Perry cast a deciding vote for Republicans’ politically toxic budget that rips away health care from his constituents in order to fund tax cuts for billionaires. Perry insulted his constituents who rely on Medicaid by calling the health care program a “money laundering” scheme and by blaming the “liberal media” rather than being honest about the impact of his vote. Perry and his Freedom Caucus colleagues even advocated for “more substantial cuts to Medicaid” than the cuts that were initially included in the bill.
Perry claims to be a deficit hawk, but just voted to balloon the federal deficit by $3.9 trillion. Perry lied to his constituents when he stated that “if we’re going to have more and higher deficit spending, that’s going to be a problem for me” – only to turn around and vote to pass the Big, Ugly Bill anyway, leaving his Central Pennsylvania constituents to foot the bill.
Perry is a threat to Social Security. Perry has expressed support for raising the retirement age on his own website, demonstrating repeatedly that Pennsylvania seniors cannot trust him to protect their hard-earned benefits.
Perry has embraced Trump’s chaotic tariffs. Perry is on the record supporting Trump’s sweeping tariffs, even as they raise costs and inject uncertainty into Pennsylvania businesses.
Perry is an anti-abortion extremist. He has supported a near total national abortion ban that has no exceptions for rape or incest. Perry even championed an effort to block the military from reimbursing travel expenses for service members seeking reproductive care. Perry is also an original co-sponsor of legislation that would impose restrictions on IVF and fertility treatments.
Scott Perry is a threat to our democracy. Perry played a “direct role” in the effort to subvert the will of voters in Central Pennsylvania and has been one of the most vocal election deniers in Congress.
