REMINDER: Vulnerable House Republicans Were Instrumental in Trump’s Insurrection

In the wake of disgraced President Trump’s third indictment, it is imperative that MAGA extremists in Congress are also held accountable for their involvement in the January 6th assault on the Capitol. Some of these vulnerable members include:

• Derrick Van Orden (WI-03) attended the “Stop the Steal” rally and was caught trespassing at the Capitol with his fellow insurrectionists – despite his attempts to deny it. Van Orden seems to have forgotten this when he screamed at high school Senate pages for what he called “defiling the space.”

• Scott Perry (PA-10) played a “direct role” in the effort to subvert the will of voters. He participated in “Stop the Steal” rallies and was a key player in Trump’s plot to oust the Attorney General. Perry spread unfounded claims regarding the election and “served as a go-between” for Trump’s DOJ and the White House, connecting Trump with Jeffrey Clark — who proposed sending the military out to quash protests if Republicans successfully overturned the election.

• Lauren Boebert (CO-03) helped orchestrate the beginning efforts to overthrow the U.S. government that led to the insurrection. Additionally, she’s come under fire for allegedly giving tours of the Capitol to a “large group” in the the days before the insurrection and revealing information about Speaker Pelosi’s location during the riots.

• In California, Mike Garica (CA-27) and Ken Calvert (CA-49) peddled conspiracy theories and voted to reject the results of the 2020 election seeking to overturn the will of American voters.

These dangerous extremists have paved the way for MAGA candidates across the country, and aided and abetted Trump’s assault on law enforcement and the rule of law.
