Today, the DCCC is reminding New Mexico families that Yvette Herrell voted against the bipartisan CHIPS and Science Act while in Congress. The CHIPS and Science Act – which was signed into law one year ago today – is game-changing legislation that invests in America, creates good-paying union construction and manufacturing jobs, and ensures U.S. competitiveness with the Chinese Communist Party.
Herrell voted against:
Bringing semiconductor manufacturing back to the U.S. and reducing production delays on the products that New Mexicans use every day, like laptops, smartphones, cars, and washing machines.
Catalyzing regional economic growth across the nation.
Creating investments in STEM education and training from K-12 to community college, undergraduate and graduate education.
Yvette Herrell voted against the creation of good-paying high-tech jobs in New Mexico. Rather than vote for bipartisan legislation in service of her constituents, Herrell spent her time in Congress appeasing party bosses.
DCCC spokesperson Justin Chermol:
“Yvette Herrell’s vote against the bipartisan CHIPS and Science Act is a vote against common-sense legislation that is lowering costs and creating good-paying jobs. Her actions to push an extreme agenda over voting for kitchen table issues is just another reason she won’t win next November.”
