Today, Rep. Ann Wagner (MO-02) joined her Republican party bosses and voted to shut down the government, which would throw the economy into chaos as it rebounds from the pandemic.
If Ann Wagner had it her way, the economy would tank, Missourians who are employed by the federal government would be furloughed without pay, our brave men and women in uniform would be forced to continuing doing their jobs without pay, and Missourians who depend on federal benefits would be hung out to dry. Instead of doing her job, Ann chose to play political games with the basic functions of the United States government.
“Ann Wagner’s reckless vote to shut down the government shows she cares more about scoring political points than doing her job of governing,” said DCCC spokesperson Monica Robinson. “Let’s be clear: Ann Wagner voted today to tank the U.S. economy in the middle of a pandemic, and voters in Missouri won’t forget that.”
