Vulnerable Republican Don Bacon voted to tank the economy today
Today, Rep. Don Bacon joined his Washington party bosses and voted to shut down the government, which would throw the economy into chaos as it rebounds from the pandemic.
If Rep. Don Bacon had it his way, the economy would tank, Nebraskans who are employed by the federal government would be furloughed without pay, our brave men and women in uniform would be forced to continuing doing their jobs without pay, and Nebraskans who depend on federal benefits would be left twisting in the wind. Instead of doing his job, Don Bacon chose to blindly follow his Washington party bosses’ lead and play political games with the basic functions of the United States government.
“Rep. Don Bacon’s reckless vote to shut down the government shows he cares more about scoring political points than doing his job of governing,” said DCCC spokesperson Johanna Warshaw. “Let’s be clear: Don Bacon voted today to tank the U.S. economy in the middle of a pandemic, and voters in NE-02 will not forget that.”
