“Rep. Juan Ciscomani Fights Like Hell For His Constituents … Until He Votes” [Arizona Republic Opinion]

• TOUTING HIS FALSE “COMMITMENT” TO MEDICAID: Ciscomani’s plan would also enact the largest cuts to Medicaid in history and kick nearly 32,000 of his own constituents off their health care. Days after his vote to gut health care, Ciscomani toured a rural hospital that relies on Medicaid funding and falsely touted “his commitment to protecting” rural care.

  Take it from a health care provider who met with Ciscomani’s staff:

• CAVING ON CLEAN ENERGY: Despite his own warnings about the harm the GOP Tax Scam would cause his district, Ciscomani cast the deciding vote to eliminate “lifechanging” clean energy jobs, hike home energy costs, and worsen air quality in his own district.

  Now, Ciscomani is begging the Senate to “substantively” change the bill to “mitigate” the damage to his constituents.

DCCC Spokesperson Lindsay Reilly:
“Juan Ciscomani could teach a masterclass in saying one thing and doing another. Instead of actually fighting for his constituents, Ciscomani consistently caves to Republican Party bosses and votes against Arizona families.”

• Say one thing. Vote the opposite.
• Republicans like Ciscomani got Donald Trump’s One Big Beautiful Bill (the “abomination” as Elon Musk called it) through the House by doing just that.
• Before the vote was taken, for example, Ciscomani joined a dozen other Republicans in urging colleagues not to mess with the clean energy tax credits that support businesses that represent a huge economic driver for districts like Ciscomani’s.
• Their colleagues didn’t much listen. Still, Ciscomani and the others voted for the abomination bill, anyway.
• House members like Ciscomani are hoping the Senate will bail them out.
• That’s because just about all of the Republicans in Congress (and all of them from Arizona) are wholly afraid to challenge Donald Trump.
