Does Rep. Martha McSally Stand By Now-Indicted Conspirators Behind Planned Parenthood Videos?

McSally Voted Six Times Against Funding For Planned Parenthood

In light of the news that a Texas grand jury has criminally indicted the two creators of the heavily-edited Planned Parenthood videos, and rejected criminal allegations against Planned Parenthood, it’s clear Rep. Martha McSally was all too eager to jump to conclusions.

McSally has voted six times against funding for Planned Parenthood, putting her on the wrong side of the over 59,000 Arizonans who count on Planned Parenthood for critical healthcare each year. Further, McSally voted to waste taxpayer money on a political witch-hunt that Republicans are calling a “special committee.” There are two critical Planned Parenthood facilities in her district, and yet McSally decided to turn her back on her constituents – all while brazenly refusing to answer for her actions.

After six votes to defund Planned Parenthood that threatens healthcare for hardworking Arizonans, does she still stand with the now-indicted creators of the heavily-edited and misleading videos? She owes her constituents an immediate explanation, not more of her usual political double-speak,” said DCCC Spokesman Tyler Law.

HEADLINE: Arizona Sonora News: McSally Refuses To Explain Planned Parenthood Vote. “Arizona’s 2nd Congressional District Rep. Martha McSally continues to rebuff attempts to explain why she voted to cut off funding to Planned Parenthood clinics that accounted for almost 60,000 patient visits in Arizona, many within her district … Arizona Sonora News (ASN) sent an email to Nancy Heiser, McSally’s community engagement coordinator, on Sept. 30. Contacted again Oct. 2, Heiser referred the message to Patrick Ptak, communications director. He did not respond. On Oct. 5 ASN called McSally’s Washington D.C. office and left a voicemail. Ptak responded the next day. When a reporter returned his call the following day to arrange an interview time, Ptak did not respond again. When reached on Oct. 9, he denied the request, saying McSally would only accept e-mail questions. ASN refused to submit questions because of no opportunity for a conversational exchange.” [ASN, 10/21/15]
