Rep. Rodney Davis Voted “No,” Took the Dough on Key Infrastructure and Jobs Investments

Voters in IL-13 deserve better than a hypocrite who votes against his own community

Rep. Rodney Davis once again voted “no” and took the dough by voting against the landmark INVEST Act, which contains critical investments in infrastructure and job creation, including $23.5 million directly for Rep. Davis’ district at his own request.

Take a look at where the investments that Davis voted against will be headed:

  • $7 million for the Hamilton Road East-West Connection Project in Bloomington

  • $3.5 million for the Reas Bridges Replacement Project over Lake Decatur

  • $3.3 million for the Curtis Road Grade Separation & Complete Streets Project

  • $2 million for the Brush College Road and Faries Parkway Grade Separation in Savoy

  • $1.5 million for the Reconstruction of Main Street from Elm Street to Madison Street in Staunton

  • $1.2 million for the Stanford Avenue Reconstruction from 11th Street to Fox Bridge Road in Springfield

  • $1.2 million for the US 67 Widening from Delhi Bypass Project to Crystal Lake Rd. in Jerseyville

  • $1.1 million for the West Main Cross Street Improvements from Webster Street to Shumway Street in Taylorville

  • $963,000 for the Centennial Park Shared Use Path in Heyworth

  • $616,000 for the Alton Road Reconstruction Phase I & II in Carlinville

  • $487,000 for the Lincoln Prairie Trail Bridge Replacement Project in Taylorville

  • $440,000 for the Hilltop Road Multi-Use Trail Extension Project in Springfield

  • $23,000 for the Royal Lakes Road Rehabilitation Project

When Davis is home in the district this recess, don’t be surprised if he spends time touting the very investments he voted against. Just like when Davis voted against direct relief funds for his community in the American Rescue Plan, but was all too happy to take the dough.

“Rodney Davis is so out-of-touch with his district that he’s repeatedly voting against needed investments in his community in an attempt to score cheap political points and fall in line with party leaders,” said DCCC Spokesperson Elena Kuhn. “Families in Illinois have Democrats to thank for the good-paying jobs and much-needed infrastructure investments headed their way — not Davis, who stood against them when it counted.”
