Rep. Scott Perry Votes Against Honoring Officers Who Protected Capitol

On Honoring Law Enforcement: “It’s all politics, it’s all garbage”

Yesterday, Scott Perry joined 20 other Republicans to oppose awarding “four congressional gold medals to the United States Capitol Police and those who protected the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2021.”

Perry later described the vote to honor the officers who defended the Capitol from insurrectionists as “garbage.” This morning he told Fox 43 that honoring the officers for their service was “politicizing their supreme sacrifice.”

Perry is responsible for egging on the Big Lie that led to the storming of the Capitol law enforcement so bravely defended, including his attempt to oust the Acting Attorney General, spreading a lie that 100,000 illegitimate votes “showed up” for Joe Biden after election was over, leading “Stop the Steal” rallies, and signing onto a lawsuit to “invalidate millions of votes” in four swing states – including Pennsylvania.

James Singer DCCC Spokesperson

“The only ‘garbage’ we saw yesterday was Scott Perry’s vote against honoring the officers whose lives he endangered with his lies. His continued spiral into the most extreme, partisan member of Congress betrays the voters of the 10th district.”
