Nearly three years to the day after a mob stormed the US Capitol in an attempt to overturn a free and fair election, GOP Conference Chair Elise Stefanik made clear she would not commit to certifying the 2024 presidential election.
Make no mistake: GOP House leadership and vulnerable House Republicans are still enabling efforts to promote false conspiracy theories and undermine our democracy on Trump’s orders. They will say or do anything to “bend the knee.”
With only 10 months before Election Day, it’s clear House Republicans – who have by and large refused to call out Trump’s dictatorial tendencies – cannot be trusted to protect the very foundation of American democracy.
