| Republican Congressman Brian Fitzpatrick cast the deciding vote to pass the so-called “One Big Beautiful Bill” out of the House last summer, giving a greenlight to the largest cuts to Medicaid in history.
Now, a new report is warning that Lower Bucks Hospital and other area medical centers are at risk of closure because of his vote.
The Bucks County Courier Times reports that “Lower Bucks Hospital and half a dozen other medical centers are at risk of shrinking or closing as result of recent Medicaid cuts, a nonprofit analysis has found.” The Courier Times adds that “Lower Bucks Hospital is located in Bristol, a community with higher needs and lower insurance rates than most of Bucks County.”
DCCC Spokesperson Eli Cousin:
“Brian Fitzpatrick cast the deciding vote to unleash cruel health care cuts that are jacking up costs and could force hospitals and health clinics to close their doors. He won’t be able to outrun his own record.”
