REPORTS: PA Hospitals, Health Clinics To Lose Billions of Dollars And Could Shutter Because of Brian Fitzpatrick

New reports detail how Republican Congressman Brian Fitzpatrick voted to slash an estimated $20 billion in Medicaid funding for Pennsylvania hospitals and health clinics, putting multiple facilities at risk of closure.

Pennsylvania Capital-Star reports that the historic Medicaid cuts in the so-called ‘Big Beautiful Bill’ – which Fitzpatrick cast the deciding vote to pass out of the House – “dwarfs the funding the state hopes to get under the Rural Health Transformation Plan.”

And Spotlight PA reports that “a recent analysis commissioned by the Hospital and Healthsystem Association of Pennsylvania […] estimates that a dozen more facilities could close over the next five years” because of Fitzpatrick’s vote.
DCCC Spokesperson Eli Cousin:
“Pennsylvania hospitals and health clinics are getting stripped for parts and could shutter because Brian Fitzpatrick cast the deciding vote for Republicans’ so-called Big Beautiful Bill. Fitzpatrick is no health care savior – he’s responsible for unleashing a devastating health care crisis across PA.”
