Despite the fact that multiple state inquiries into Planned Parenthood have failed to come up with any wrongdoing – and even resulted in criminal charges against the filmmakers of the video – the Republican-controlled House of Representatives created yet another committee to intimidate this women’s health care provider. To this point, the Republican House of Representatives has wasted taxpayer dollars and still failed to find any wrongdoing. Republican Congressman Bob Dold had the opportunity to vote to end this witch hunt, but instead kowtowed to party leadership and voted to maintain the committee.
“Republicans know this committee is nothing more than a partisan ploy to intimidate and punish an organization that does nothing but good for women and families, and Republican Congressman Bob Dold just went on record voting to keep the intimidation of researchers, students, and doctors going,” said Sacha Haworth of the DCCC. “For all the bluster we hear from Bob Dold about healthcare and wasting federal dollars, he made it abundantly clear that party politics means more to him than doing the right thing.”
