Republican Candidates Spread Extremist Lies about January 6th in TX-15

Does Monica De La Cruz think FBI agents were “used as political agitators” and that the Capitol rioters are “political prisoners”?

The race to the right in the Republican primary in Texas’s 15th Congressional district took an unhinged turn this week as candidate Mauro Garza went up on TV to spread lies about the insurrection on January 6th.

In a new TV ad from Mauro Garza’s campaign, the narrator promotes dangerous, extremist lies about the attack on the Capitol, saying:

“They call it an insurrection, but what really happened January 6th? Were FBI agents used as political agitators? … In Congress, Mauro Garza will join other pro-Trump patriots to expose the truth, bring justice to political prisoners, and take on the Washington swamp.”

The lies about our elections and democracy are par for the course in the Republican TX-15 primary, which is getting nastier and nastier by the day. NRCC Young Gun Monica De La Cruz was slammed for being one of at least twelve “prized recruits” that has embraced Trump’s “big lie” and “sought to undermine the legitimacy of the past elections.”

Monica De La Cruz needs to come clean with South Texans: Does she believe the deadly attack on January 6th was an insurrection? And does she agree with her fellow Republicans that insurrectionists who stormed the Capitol are “political prisoners”?

“South Texans deserve an honest representative who will work hard for the district,” said DCCC spokesperson Monica Robinson. “But all they’re getting from the Republican primary in TX-15 is a contest over who can spread the most egregious lies about the threats to our country’s democracy.”
