Tired of the Republican Senate already shirking their Constitutional responsibility to hold an up-or-down vote on President Obama’s eventual Supreme Court nominee, Congressman Richard Hanna (NY-22) became the first GOP Congressman to condemn this cynical ploy. Congressman Will Hurd has yet to do the same.
Will Congressman Hurd stand up to their Republican counterparts in the Senate and demand that they do their job and at least give the eventual Supreme Court nominee a vote?

WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Rep. Richard Hanna broke ranks with the Republican majority on Thursday, and said the Senate GOP must consider President Barack Obama’s pick for a Supreme Court justice.
Hanna, a third-term Republican from Oneida County, said both Obama and the Senate are obligated to move forward with a nominee to fill the Supreme Court vacancy left by the death of Justice Antonin Scalia.
“The Constitution is clear,” Hanna said in a statement. “As a result of the vacancy on the court, the president has a responsibility and a right to nominate an individual to the court. Equally, the Senate has a responsibility to consider the nominee.” […]
