Republican Kevin Kiley’s shameless hypocrisy is on full display today.
After the news that the FBI searched Donald Trump’s Florida home Mar-a-Lago, Kiley is capitalizing on Republican outrage over the FBI simply doing its job to fundraise for his race. He wants to “reclaim the Majority and investigate Biden.”
The manufactured outrage is proof that Kevin Kiley will do or say anything if it benefits him politically, even if it means throwing law enforcement under the bus. As National Journal put it: Republicans “appeared to become the party of ‘defund the police’ in a matter of hours.”
Instead of letting law enforcement do its job, Republicans immediately leapt to spread baseless conspiracy theories and attack the integrity of the FBI. The last 24 hours made clear: Trump’s Republican Party has no conviction that won’t collapse like a house of cards the second it serves them politically.
“Kevin Kiley will do or say literally anything if he thinks it will help his self-absorbed quest for political power,” said DCCC spokesperson Maddy Mundy. “If Kiley really respected the law, he would let law enforcement do their work instead of attacking the integrity of the FBI.”
