Despite a weak performance and voters sending a clear message in support of abortion access in 2022, the Republican party is reaffirming their commitment to ban reproductive freedom nationwide.
Rolling back 50 years of reproductive freedom and barring one third of women from accessing reproductive health care is not enough for anti-choice Republicans. Instead, the Republican National Committee is encouraging the party to “go on offense” and pass “the strongest pro-life legislation possible,” in a resolution adopted over the weekend.
DCCC spokesperson Nebeyatt Betre:
“Every single House Republican will be held accountable for the extreme, out-of-touch, anti-choice agenda that the Republican party remains committed to. The Republican party’s renewed vows to destroy reproductive freedom and threaten women’s livelihoods just raised the stakes for voters in 2024, and made every vulnerable House Republican more at risk of losing.”
