Republican National Convention Day 1: Make the Ultra Rich Even Wealthier, Ignore the Middle Class

During the RNC, House GOP falls in line with Trump’s plan to raise costs on working families and cut Social Security and Medicare 

On the first day of the Republican National Convention, House Republicans in Milwaukee promoted their disastrous plans to bail out the ultra wealthy and big corporations, all while cutting seniors’ hard-earned benefits as a part of Donald Trump’s Project 2025.

House Republicans have been hard at work to push Trump’s cost-raising Project 2025 agenda in Congress by:

• Extending the Tax Scam 2.0 that is a hand out to the well-off and well-connected.

  • Their Tax Scam 2.0 would result in more than 40% of the benefits going to those in the top 5% income bracket.

  • The GOP tax scam abandoned working families while salaries for the top 10% of executives increased dramatically.

  • Project 2025 would take this scam a step further, raising taxes for millions of families.

• Raising insurance costs across the board by repealing the Affordable Care Act, putting nearly 100 million Americans at risk of losing their health care or forcing them into junk insurance.

• Raising costs and cutting benefits for seniors by privatizing Medicare.

• Raising prescription drug costs – including eliminating the $35 per month cap on insulin – by repealing Inflation Reduction Act.

  • Repealing these price caps could raise costs on as many as 18.5 million seniors.
