Republican Senator & Army Veteran Dave McCormick Claps Back at Scott Perry for Disparaging Veterans

Scott Perry continues to face blowback for his recent insulting remarks suggesting that Democratic veterans only serve our country to “get the credential” and they “don’t support America.”

This time, Perry is being called out by a member of his own party.

U.S. Senator Dave McCormick was asked about Perry’s remarks and hit back sharply in his response, saying: “I think those that are willing to put themselves, their lives on the line for the military, I salute them.”

McCormick becomes the latest to call out Perry for his insulting remarks.

Multiple veterans, including a local Republican, called out Perry at an event last week. PennLive’s Editorial Board slammed his comments, writing that “Perry has gone a step too far in defaming millions of veterans who just happen to be Democrats.” And City & State PA named Perry one of the biggest losers of the week for his remarks.

DCCC Spokesperson Eli Cousin:
“Scott Perry is so extreme that even members of his own party can no longer defend him. Central Pennsylvanians deserve so much better than a politician who denigrates the service of men and women in uniform just because he disagrees with their politics.”
