Republican Shutdown Day One: Juan Ciscomani MIA, Refuses to Do His Job

As America faces a looming health care crisis, Juan Ciscomani and House Republicans refuse to lower health costs for Americans

As Arizonans wake up to the first day of the Republican shutdown, Juan Ciscomani and House Republicans can’t be bothered to stay in D.C. and find a solution.

Millions of Americans are poised to get slapped with massive increases on their health care bills this fall, and poll after poll shows that voters want Congress to restore affordable health care and will hold Republicans responsible for their failed agenda.

But instead of doing their job, Ciscomani and Republicans have chosen to not even show up to D.C. this week, cancelling all votes, shutting the government down, and threatening Americans’ livelihoods in the process.

DCCC Spokesperson Lindsay Reilly:
“Juan Ciscomani helped House Republicans barrel the nation towards a shutdown because they decided that averting skyrocketing health care costs for millions of Americans wasn’t worth their time. Make no mistake, Ciscomani owns this shutdown, and he owns the harm and higher costs facing working Arizonans.”
