Republicans in Competitive PA-07 Primary Tie Themselves to Trump

Ahead of President Trump’s visit to the Lehigh Valley, Lisa Scheller and Dean Browning are rushing to out-Trump each other in an attempt to get ahead in their competitive primary.

This race had already gotten heated before Trump’s visit, with both candidates attacking each other over who is more conservative:

  • Exhibit A: com questions whether “Lisa [is] telling you the truth when she says she supports President Trump.”
  • Exhibit B: com hits Browning for his “shady liberal record.”

“It doesn’t matter whether Dean Browning or Lisa Scheller make it out of this primary. Both have tied themselves in knots pledging allegiance to a political party rather than working on behalf of the community, and voters won’t stand for that in November,” said DCCC Spokesperson Courtney Rice. “While Scheller and Browning fight over political ideology, Rep. Susan Wild has continued to be an independent voice for her district, advocating for increased access to health care and looking out for the most vulnerable during the pandemic.”
