Republicans in Retreat As They Pull Down Ad Buys and Concede Battleground House Districts

Republicans are retreating, pulling ad reservations, discussing triaging their vulnerable incumbents, and conceding that they have no chance in districts they once touted as key to maintaining their majority.

It began a few weeks ago in NY-19 when Republicans pulled millions in ad reservations and removed their nominee from the ‘MAGA Majority’ list.

Then last week, CNN reported that Republicans were considering pulling money from key battleground districts that are top targets for Democrats.

And this week, as Trump flew to Nebraska to support GOP candidates, Republicans gave up on their nominee in NE-02.

Axios reports that House Majority Whip Tom Emmer is warning that more cuts are coming, saying that Republicans have to identify “where you’re not gonna be able to salvage this.”

DCCC Spokesperson Liam Buckley:
“Less than four weeks out from Election Day, Republicans are giving up on House seats and putting their candidates on the chopping block. They’ve already abandoned their constituents, now they’re abandoning their majority.”
