REPUBLICANS PANIC OVER KEAN JR.: “Even those who are ride or die for Tom Kean are starting to ask questions.”

NJ.COM: “WHERE’S KEAN?”
Washington Post: “Republicans are worried.”

Another week has come and gone, and Congressman Tom Kean Jr. still won’t tell his constituents where he is or why he’s missed more than 100 votes. Kean Jr.’s lack of transparency has become so problematic that members of his own party are starting to hit the panic button.

A Republican operative tells The Washington Post today“No one knows what is going on, which is leading to a lot of anxiety” among the GOP. They added: “You can’t just go missing for months and tell people they just need to be patient and wait without any accountability.”

And NJ.com reported this week that “conservative radio talk show host Bill Spadea has publicly questioned whether Kean will stay on the ballot and said the party should call on him to ‘step aside … because this is unacceptable behavior.’” Another Republican insider told the outlet: “Even those who are ride or die for Tom Kean are starting to ask questions.”

DCCC Spokesperson Eli Cousin:
“Even Republicans admit that Tom Kean Jr.’s lack of transparency is ‘unacceptable.’ New Jerseyans deserve better.”
