| After Republicans voted to pass the largest health care cuts in history, Americans are dealing with the devastating impacts. KFF reports that health care costs are a top financial worry for families who are already struggling to make ends meet with the high cost of living.
Instead of lowering costs, Republicans want Americans to switch to high-deductable plans that offer less coverage. An estimated 4 million Americans are expected to lose their health insurance coverage this year, and so far, about 1 million people “have dropped off Obamacare.”
The Republican health care crisis that American families are dealing with:
- Nearly half of U.S. adults say it’s difficult to afford health care costs.
- 3 in 10 say they or a family member had problems paying for health care in the past year.
- About one-third (36%) of adults say that they have skipped or postponed getting health care they needed because of the cost in the past year.
- About four in ten (43%) U.S. adults say they have not taken their medication as prescribed in the past year due to costs.
DCCC Spokesperson Bridget Gonzalez:
“It is clear that Republicans could not care less if Americans have access to health care. Nearly half of the country can’t pay for their health care needs — they deserve better from their representatives.” |
