This is awkward. In a new ad, the Washington Republican allies of Martin Babinec and Claudia Tenney are promising that their candidates will deliver more obstruction and gridlock in Washington.
That’s the opposite of what New York voters want. But these promises aren’t surprising.
Tenney claimed last year during an interview that “the scariest phrase in government is getting things done and governing.”
Martin Babinec has pledged to “caucus with House Republicans” and fall in line with their obstructionist agenda in Congress. Babinec’s campaign is even managed by a former Trump staffer.
“New York voters want a Congress that works, and Republican allies of Martin Babinec and Claudia Tenney are only promising more obstruction and gridlock,” said Bryan Lesswing at the DCCC. “What is clear is that conservative Martin Babinec and Tea Party champion Claudia Tenney are not interested in progress, only more of the same from Congress.”
