| If you thought the clown car GOP primary in OH-09 couldn’t get any messier — think again.
Derek Merrin has been caught with his fingerprints all over a smear website targeting fellow Republican Josh Williams, the Toledo Blade reports. Images on the “Liberal Fraud Josh Williams” oppo site are tied directly to a consultant on Merrin’s payroll — prompting an enraged Williams to declare he was “deeply disheartened” that someone he “once considered a friend” would “resort to these smear tactics.” The cherry on top? The website violated election law by failing to disclose its owner.
But Williams is no innocent bystander. He posted sexually explicit and degrading comments about women on his Facebook page for years, then shrugged them off as “memes” and “jokes” when they came to light.
And then there’s Madison Sheahan. Bombshell new reporting from the Daily Mail reveals an ex-partner of Sheahan’s — a then-19-year-old junior staffer who Sheahan supervised — describes their two-year relationship as “toxic,” “volatile,” and “controlling.” The pattern followed her straight to ICE. A senior DHS official told the Daily Mail Sheahan routinely threatened staffers she’d “rip their faces off” and systematically pushed to get women fired who she viewed as threats: “She’d always try to be the alpha in the room. There could never be a stronger woman.”
