The Republican primary in NH-01 has officially gone off the rails.
Reacting to dubious claims by Donald Trump and right-wing media about “spying” on Trump, two of the leading GOP candidates have taken the bait.
Matt Mowers called on National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan to resign over the lies about a court filing because Karoline Leavitt bullied him into it (this is a trend) and because he has a stenographer at Breitbart who apparently will just write anything Mowers wants.
Of course, Karoline Leavitt went even further. In an interview with “Real America’s Voice,” a channel made for people who think Fox News is too soft on the libs, Leavitt:

Vowed to put Hillary Clinton and Dr. Anthony Fauci “behind bars.”

Supported impeaching President Biden.

Suggested the media was covering Putin invading Ukraine was a hoax to distract from this legal filing, “It’s certainly not a coincidence that the news of Putin potentially invading Ukraine broke on the very same day that Durham released this report about Hillary Clinton colluding with the Russians to take down Donald Trump.”

Attacked her opponents for not commenting on the story (maybe why Mowers went to Breitbart the next day?) “Don’t deserve to be elected. They don’t deserve President Trump’s support.”

Called the partisan lies covering this legal filing, “This is the greatest political scandal in American history…This is worse than Watergate.”

Threatened the media, “The media is complicit in these lies, and when we take back the House in 2022, we will hold them all accountable.”
The untrue and exaggerated claims made by Trump and right-wing media have been debunked in the Associated Press, New York Times, Washington Post, and elsewhere, but Matt Mowers and Karoline Leavitt didn’t care, instead going full throttle on this right-wing fiction.
