Today Donald Trump and Ted Cruz are fighting for delegates in New York, but no matter who comes out on top, extreme right-wing Republican candidate Matt Kokkonen will go to bed happy.
In an interview last week, Kokkonen said he “personally appreciate[s] the fact that Trump has brought to the forefront, many topics that should be brought up.” Kokkonen, like Trump, wants to deny refugees entry to the U.S., noting that “Sweden has taken in about 60 thousand refugees and now Sweden is known as the rape capital of Europe.” Kokkonen, like Trump, uses unacceptable rhetoric about immigrants. One of his top issues is stopping “the illegal aliens invasion of our country.”
But Kokkonen won’t mind if Cruz comes out ahead tonight, since Cruz agrees that the Department of Education should be eliminated.
“Right-wing Republican Matt Kokkonen’s full throated support for Donald Trump and Ted Cruz is exactly why he is wrong for the Central Coast,” said Barb Solish of the DCCC. “Central Coast families want problem solvers, not reckless extremists using hateful rhetoric.”
