| The Chairman of the Republican National Committee just said the quiet part out loud: Donald Trump and the GOP need Brian Fitzpatrick in Washington because they know they can count on his vote when they need it most.
In an interview with NBC10, the RNC Chair Joe Gruters said that Trump will “offer assistance” to Fitzpatrick in his reelection campaign (Reminder: Trump previously recorded a robocall for Fitzpatrick).
And the RNC Chair emphasized that D.C. Republicans are all in for Fitzpatrick, saying: “we need him… to make sure we have a majority.”
TRANSCRIPT:
RNC Chairman: Listen, we need to win all these seats, and so, I respect and appreciate Congressman Fitzpatrick, and he’s running his race and the President’s going to help, offer assistance and help everybody no matter who they are and where they’re at.
NBC10’s Lauren Mayk: Including Congressman Fitzpatrick?
RNC Chairman: At the end of the day, Fitzpatrick is a strong member of Congress, and we need him back in our delegation to make sure we have a majority. So we’re going to do whatever we can to make sure he’s successful.
DCCC Spokesperson Eli Cousin:
“Brian Fitzpatrick has gone Washington and is now completely in the pocket of D.C. Republicans and his special interest donors. There’s a reason Donald Trump’s Republican Party is all in for Fitzpatrick: they know they can count on his vote when they need it most. There is only one choice for Bucks and Montgomery voters who want to stand up to Trump and elect a Congress who will actually fight for them, and that candidate is Bob Harvie.”
