Rob Bresnahan’s “Medicaid Cuts Threaten Hundreds of Hospitals, New Report Finds” [NBC News]

Congressman Rob Bresnahan hasn’t been honest with the people of Northeastern Pennsylvania.

Bresnahan wants to paper over his awful record by pretending to be a hospital saviorThe truth? A new study finds that Bresnahan’s “Medicaid cuts threaten hundreds of hospitals.”

Bresnahan promised he would protect health care, but then voted for the largest cuts to Medicaid in history.

Bresnahan voted to slash funding from Pennsylvania hospitals.

Bresnahan dumped up to $250K worth of Pennsylvania hospital bonds right before he voted for historic health care cuts.

  • The New York Times reported that Bresnahan – who campaigned on a promise to ban congressional stock trading – “sold off between $100,001 and $250,000 worth of bonds issued by the Allegheny County Hospital Development Authority,” which “came after a report identified 10 rural hospitals in Pennsylvania that faced immediate risk of closure.”

DCCC Spokesperson Eli Cousin:
“Congressman Rob Bresnahan is a crooked, two-faced politician who has repeatedly shown he is willing to tell bald-faced lies to get elected. The truth is that Bresnahan voted to gut funding for Pennsylvania hospitals, spiked health care costs for his own constituents, and played the stock market while voting to unleash pain on his own community.”
