| After nearly 20 years in Washington, career politician Rob Wittman has gotten used to dodging questions.
But Wittman’s latest dodge is uniquely humiliating.
Asked on a live TV interview whether or not he agrees with J.D. Vance that the Iran War is “not a war,” Wittman – who sits on the House Armed Services Committee – refused to answer the question.
NBC Anchor Ryan Nobles: “Do you agree with what Vice President Vance said today, that what’s happening in Iran right now is ‘not a war’?”
Rob Wittman: [Refused to answer yes or no.]
NBC Anchor Ryan Nobles: “…The United States fired twice on Iran this week. Isn’t that the definition of war?”
Rob Wittman: [Stuttered and dodged.]
NBC Anchor Ryan Nobles: “…There’s no doubt that the war in Iran has caused gas to be, in some cases, over $4 a gallon in your district. What are you telling your constituents about the high price of gas? And how much longer should they expect to pay these costs as a result of what’s happening with the war?”
Rob Wittman: [Squirmed and did not answer the question.]
DCCC Spokesperson Eli Cousin:
“Rob Wittman is publicly humiliating himself on national television because even he knows he can’t defend his support for this war of choice in Iran. Instead of gas-lighting Virginians, he should quit voting in favor of a war that is jacking up the price of gas here at home.”
