Rod Blum’s Shady Company Now Scrubbing Evidence in Ethics Scandal

Rep. Rod Blum has blamed his ongoing ethics scandal on politics as usual, but his company’s attempt to bury evidence of his involvement shows how damaging this is to his re-election prospects. Despite the company’s diligence to scrub the internet of Blum’s involvement, the Associated Press already revealed that Blum was listed as CEO of the company, which is based in his business space and featured his Congressional staff in online videos.

As the vulnerable Congressman goes into overdrive to his save his career, he’s still mum on his involvement in a company that actually profits from burying FDA warnings and putting the health and safety of Iowans at risk.

“You can’t make this stuff up. After Rod Blum got caught red-handed in failing to disclose his shady company that buries FDA warnings on the internet, his company is now trying to do the same damage control for Blum,” said DCCC Spokeswoman Rachel Irwin. “Rod Blum personifies the worst of the Washington swamp and is now hiding evidence in his blockbuster ethics scandal proves he’s unfit to represent Iowans. Blum can’t run away from these damaging reports or remain silent on his company profiting from putting the health and safety of Iowans at risk any longer.”

DUBUQUE, Ia. — U.S. Rep. Rod Blum and the unusual internet marketing firm he founded while in office continue to distance themselves from each other.

Tin Moon recently removed any mention of the Iowa Republican from its website.

The Associated Press reported last month that Blum was one of two directors of the company, founded in 2016.

Tin Moon then removed Blum’s congressional photo, changed his title from CEO to majority shareholder, and scrubbed a false promotional video featuring Blum’s congressional aide posing as a satisfied customer. Now, Tin Moon’s gone further and removed Blum’s biography.

Blum belatedly disclosed his Tin Moon ties as required by House ethics rules following AP’s report, saying his failure to do so earlier was an oversight.

The company’s president remains Ed Graham, a Blum business partner and political supporter. Graham hung up when reached Thursday.

Tin Moon continues to promise companies help burying Food and Drug Administration warning letters below positive search results.
