Rodney Davis’ Newest Claim to Fame: One of Republicans’ Most Vulnerable

Today, Republican leadership added Congressman Davis to their list of most vulnerable incumbents, their latest move in shoring up an incumbent who has clearly become too comfortable within the ranks of party leadership in the eyes of Illinoisans. Davis is so entrenched in Republican ranks, he went so far as to refuse to return the $10,000 given him by former Congressman Aaron Schock.

“Time after time, Congressman Davis has voted against the interests of Illinois veterans, students, and hardworking families, so it’s no wonder he’s turning to his Washington pals to help him out,” said Matt Thornton of the DCCC. “Congressman Davis probably hopes to distract Illinoisans from his votes to slash Pell grants and stifle transportation funding, as well as his continued implication in an ethical scandal involving disgraced former Congressman Aaron Schock, but Illinois voters know better than to be fooled.”
