This morning, a rural Nebraska hospital that services primarily a town of 900 people announced it would be closing its doors, citing anticipated cuts to Medicaid as a significant reason for the closure.
As House Republicans, including every member of the Nebraska Congressional Delegation, prepare to rubber stamp more than $900 billion in Medicaid cuts, the Curtis Medical Center has said the anticipated cuts have made it impossible for the hospital to function.
Reminder: This news follows Don Bacon betraying Nebraskans by setting and breaking his own ridiculous red-line of only supporting $500 billion in Medicaid cuts.
DCCC Spokesperson Madison Andrus:
“This devastating hospital closure is just the first of many rural hospitals that could be closing their doors thanks to Republicans’ utter betrayal of rural Americans. As House Republicans bend the knee to party extremists and gut these critical programs, it’s America’s working families that will be left to suffer. Don Bacon is retiring in shame.”
