Today, Paul Ryan admitted the obvious and confirmed the inevitable by officially endorsing Donald Trump.

Over the last few weeks, while Ryan has dragged out his decision to endorse his party’s toxic presidential nominee, Congressman John Katko has followed suit, saying:

“Any candidate has to earn my vote — including Donald Trump. He has a lot of work to do in that regard. I’m concerned with some of the comments he’s made, and with the general tone that he’s taken.”

Now that Ryan has endorsed Trump, exposing the last few weeks’ delay for the political charade that it was, it’s well past time for Katko to end his word games and do the same.

And Paul Ryan’s top spokesperson has made clear they done playing word games. Katko should follow suit and make it clear that he endorses his party’s frontrunner, Donald Trump.

“Ever since Donald Trump clinched the Republican presidential nomination, Katko has dutifully followed Paul Ryan’s talking points and delayed his endorsement of his ticket mate Donald Trump,” said Bryan Lesswing at the DCCC. “Now that Ryan has ended his charade, we can only expect that Katko will also stop playing word games and endorse Trump’s toxic campaign, to which he is already inseparably tied.”
