| A Republican super PAC is pouring in more than a million bucks to attack firefighter Bob Brooks in Pennsylvania’s 7th Congressional District.
And while DC Republicans desperately try to meddle in the race to stop Bob, vulnerable Congressman Ryan Mackenzie is openly crashing out about the prospect of facing him in November.
Mackenzie and the GOP are going after a 20-year Bethlehem firefighter, union president, small business owner, and working class champion because he’s the candidate they fear most.
DCCC Spokesperson Eli Cousin:
“Firefighter Bob Brooks is the candidate that DC Republicans and Ryan Mackenzie fear most because they know Bob will win in November. They are terrified of a working class guy and 20-year firefighter who ran into burning buildings to keep his community safe facing off against a weak career politician who has ripped away health care and made life more expensive for working families.”
BACKGROUND:
- Punchbowl News reports that the metadata for the PAC’s website has a WinRed link (the site Republicans use to fundraise), and that House Republicans’ super PAC Congressional Leadership Fund (CLF) declined to deny their involvement in the group.
- The MAGA-aligned group intends to spend more than $1.2M attacking Bob Brooks.
