| Congressman Ryan Mackenzie continues to vote to support sweeping tariffs that are jacking up costs on everything from groceries to steel and aluminum – even as he acknowledges that he is hurting his own community.
LehighValleyNews.com reported this week that “Mackenzie joined nearly all other Republicans in passing a rule that prevents the U.S. House from” challenging Trump’s tariffs. Mackenzie also “previously voted in April to block tariff debate.” Mackenzie has repeatedly ceded his power on tariffs to Trump.
Yet Mackenzie then acknowledged during a televised event that the sweeping tariffs he himself voted to protect have been “very disruptive to a lot of businesses.”

“Ryan Mackenzie campaigned on a promise to lower costs but has supported sweeping tariffs that are making things more expensive for Lehigh Valley families. Mackenzie even acknowledges the pain he is causing, but votes to rubber-stamp the cost-spiking tariffs anyway. Having spent his entire life as a career politician, it looks like Mackenzie has gotten used to seeing a problem and then doing nothing about it.” |
