Health care costs are skyrocketing across Congressman Ryan Mackenzie’s district because he and his D.C. party bosses failed to extend the Affordable Care Act (ACA) tax credits.

LehighValleyNews.com reports today that “the rising premiums are part of the larger affordability crisis with which working families are wrestling here and across the country” – a crisis that Mackenzie promised on the campaign trail he would address but has instead only made things worse.
- Lehigh County: “Premiums for Lehigh County residents jumped $330 a month — a 205% spike over last year’s average.”
- Northampton County: “Northampton County residents saw their policy premiums cost an extra $317 a month, a jump of 163%.”
- Carbon County: “Carbon County customers weren’t much better off, with an average increase of $303 a month.”
DCCC Spokesperson Eli Cousin:
“Congressman Ryan Mackenzie allowed health care costs to skyrocket for hardworking Lehigh Valley families – that’s a fact. Mackenzie has dedicated his entire career to undercutting affordable health care and even called the ACA ‘infringements upon our rights.’ He will be held accountable for his record at the ballot box in November.”
