| Congressman Ryan Mackenzie acted as a loyal lapdog for Donald Trump last night, delivering opening remarks for his boss and heaping praise on him for earning the “FIFA peace prize.”

Mackenzie isn’t just getting mocked for bear-hugging Trump: He’s also drawing attention for making a major admission during his remarks. Mackenzie admitted that the Trump administration and Republicans have not brought down prices. Fact check: True.

Here’s a reminder: Trump only won Mackenzie’s district by 1 percent in 2024, and poll after poll now shows his approval ratings cratering. Democrats are overperforming in special and off-year elections by roughly 13 percent this year – making Mackenzie’s decision to bear-hug Trump even more notable.
