Ryan Mackenzie Tries To Run From His Record During Debate

During tonight’s PA-07 candidate debate, Ryan Mackenzie seemed to forget his own extreme voting record in a failed attempt to deceive Pennsylvania voters. Here’s a reminder of Mackenzie’s agenda to help jog his memory:

Mackenzie is an anti-abortion extremist. Mackenzie voted for multiple abortion bans with no exceptions for rape or incest (although he’s repeatedly tried to claim otherwise), voted to amend the state constitution to exclude any rights related to abortion, and boasted that he has a “100% pro-life voting record” – before scrubbing his anti-abortion record from his website.

Mackenzie is an anti-worker, anti-union politician. Mackenzie rejected legislation to increase Pennsylvania’s minimum wage, opposed employees’ rights to organize, and refused to support bills that would expand retirement savings accounts for workers. Most recently, Mackenzie said manufacturing jobs being lost to automation is “where you want to go.”

Mackenzie wants to defund Social Security and Medicare. Mackenzie said he is “a fan of zero-based budgeting,” which would put the critical programs on the chopping block every single year and have devastating consequences for seniors.

Mackenzie wants to defund our public schools and is a threat to children’s education. In 2023, Mackenzie co-sponsored a bill to send $100 million in taxpayer funds that could go to public schools to pay for private school tuition.

DCCC Spokesperson Aidan Johnson:

“Ryan Mackenzie is shamelessly lying to voters about his extreme, far-right agenda. All he has to show for his time in the state legislature is a dangerous record that threatens Pennsylvania women, seniors, and families — and Congresswoman Susan Wild will continue to hold him accountable from now until Election Day.”
